Midland Supportive Care Work Group

Supportive care encompasses the essential services required to meet the physical, social, cultural, emotional, nutritional, informational, psychological, spiritual and practice needs throughout a person's experience with cancer.

The Midland Supportive Care Work Group was established in December 2009.  Its role is to:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of a supportive care services directory and to support health professionals to incorporate these services seamlessley in a consistent approach.
• Assist with the regional implementation of the national Guidance for Improving Supportive Care for Adults with Cancer in New Zealand
• Identify opportunities for improved collaboration across the care continnum.
