Cancer Control New Zealand (CCNZ)

Cancer Control New Zealand is responsible for making sure New Zealand’s Cancer Control Strategy is turned into action. CCNZ is an independent advisory body appointed by the Minister of Health. CCNZ give strategic advice directly to the Minister and to the wider cancer control community.

Situated within the Sector Capability and Innovation Directorate of the Ministry of Health the Cancer Control Team is tasked with driving the implementation of the New Zealand Cancer Control Strategy, via the Cancer Control Programme.

New Zealand Cancer Control Steering Group

The purpose of the Cancer Control Steering Group is to provide governance for the cancer control programme. It oversees priority setting, planning and implementation for the cancer control programme. The cancer control programme is a national programme that covers Ministry of Health, district health boards and the regional cancer networks activity to leading the sector to implement the New Zealand Cancer Control Strategy and the New Zealand Cancer Control Strategy Action Plan 2005-2010.
